OVERVIEW
A multi-pitch climbing course is aimed at climbers who have already developed a foundation in rock climbing and are looking to expand their skills to tackle more complex and challenging routes. For example, those who are comfortable leading single-pitch routes and are looking to transition to multi-pitch climbing, aspiring alpine climbers looking to tackle longer routes and participants who wish to broaden their climbing skills and add a valuable skill set to their repertoire.

Brief review of participants' climbing experience.
Multi-Pitch Climbing Fundamentals
Understanding the concept of multi-pitch climbing.
Equipment overview: harnesses, helmets, belay devices, slings, and protection.
Anchor Building and Belay Transitions
Building solid and redundant anchors at belay stations.
Techniques for smooth transitions between belay stations.
Communication and Strategy
Effective communication techniques on multi-pitch routes.
Route strategy, including selecting belay stances and managing rope.
Simulated Multi-Pitch Climbing
Participants take turns mock leading pitches while practicing multi-pitch transitions and communication.
Multi-Pitch Climbing
Participants apply their skills on a guided multi-pitch climb.
Emphasis on safety, communication, and efficient climbing techniques.
Efficient Climbing Techniques
Advanced techniques for various types of rock and terrain.

Course Ratios
4 spaces per course
An instructor can teach up to 2 people on this course - we can provide additional instructors adhering to a 1:2 ratio.
Minimum of 2 for courses to run in full. If you are the only booking, that will secure an instructor for one day.

1:4 Ratio
An instructor can teach up to 4 people on this course - we can provide additional instructors adhering to a 1:4 ratio.
Minimum of 2 for courses to run
If you are a single booking, we can run one day on a multi-pitch clim as the course fee covers 1 day of instruction at 1-1.
Equipment
Harness, helmet, ropes & climbing hardware are available to use and included in the price
We will share kit lists with you during the booking stage
You will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing and have your own rock shoes.

Venue
These courses use the North Lakes and we use the crags of Borrowdale to deliver the outline of the course.
We will meet in Keswick Climbing Wall cafe for 9:00am
Here we will discuss your aims and outline the course structure.
We use crags such as Black Crag, Bowderstone Crag, Shepherd's Crag, Glaciated Slab as examples.
